At around 11 am, Assam officials accompanied by media persons and police arrived at Lower Tarasso in 11 vehicles along with a JCB. They tried to erect RCC pillars but were stopped due to timely intervention of Tarasso circle officer Kipa Raja and Officer in charge of Tarasso police station.
Both the officials urged their Assam counterpart to stop work and let matter be taken up in higher level.
As per source, Assam government has sanctioned Rs 70 lacs for construction of forest camp inside Arunachal territory at Tarasso. Many couldn’t cast postal vote due to short notice: BJP
ITANAGAR, Mar 03: Many government employees engaged in poll duty, especially from remote Kurung Kumey district, could not cast their vote by postal ballot because of short notice, alleged state BJP.
“We are given to know that the government employees engaged in election duty from several district, especially Kurung Kumey, were given very short time for casting their postal vote for which many of them could not excercise their adult franchise,” alleged state BJP Spokesperson Techi Necha in a release.
The party said that notice for postal ballot was issued on March 30 and voting was held on April 2 in the Returning Officer’s office at Koloriang for polling personnel of Kurung Kumey district that too without issuing them their election duty certificates (EDCs).
The Kurung Kumey DEO should have given them atleast a week’s time considering the communication bottlenecks. Many polling officials were unaware about the issuance of the notice and many even did not receive the DEO’s notice on time, he said.
There is a provision for casting vote by polling officials at their appointed place of duty with the EDC, the party Spokesperson said, and sought the intervention of the Election Commission of India that the polling officials, who couldn’t cast their vote, could exercise their adult franchise.
Alleging direct involvement of government employees in election campaigning across the state thus violating the model code of conduct, the party urged the Commission to check illegal practice.

Anshu to climb Mt. Everest for fourth time
ITANAGAR, Apr 03: Lured by the arresting mountains and snow capped peaks of Mt. Everest, Anshu Jamsenpa is back again to climb the world’s highest and most fearsome mountain peak for the fourth time. She has already done it three times.
Mother of two, Anshu created history by scaling Mt. Everest twice in 10 days and also became the first woman mountaineer in the world to achieve the feat twice in the same season in 2011. This time too, she is attempting a double ascent.

ITANAGAR, April 3: All the Polling personnel under DEO Papum Pare drafted for Kurung Kumey were given proper briefing by the DC cum RO Itanagar Mige Kamki on their role as an agent of Election Commission of India. He called upon all the personnel to feel privileged as they were the ones selected for the same after examining all aspects. “As a citizen of this great country, you should feel proud to participate in making our democratic government strong as it is not only the duty of the Chief Election Commission but all citizens who are employees of Union Government, State Government as well as Public Sector Undertakings to help it conduct in a free and fair manner.” He also explained in details about the arrangements for their movement to Kurung Kumey.

Later, at the DC Office, a meeting was held for all the Booth Level Officers of 13 Itanagar Assembly Constituencies and presided by both the RO of Itanagar as well as DEO Papum Pare Ashok Kumar to discuss issues with respect to their records of distribution of voter’s slips with proof. Calling upon all the BLOs to work with dedication and distribute the voters slip as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India, the RO also stressed that all distribution should be purely on the basis of EPIC card as proof and no other document should be considered for the same. Observers oversee final training of micro observers
BOMDILA, April 3: The second and final round of the training for the Micro observers concluded yesterday at district headquarters Bomdila in presence of both the General Observers and the DEO.
General observer for Assembly election Arvind Kumar Singh in his address underscoring on the importance of ensuring a free, fair and successful polling asked the Micro observers to report directly to the General observers on all account.
Dr. E Ramesh Kumar, the General observer for the Parliamentary elections outlined that as the district has large numbers of polling stations which has to be covered on foot march and also as some of them are in the shadow areas where connectivity would be a problem, the role and preparedness of the Micro observers would be critical and of vital importance. He also added that the duties of the Micro observers aren’t complete till the EVMs are safely brought back to the deposition counter. As a word of advice and caution, he called for discharging one’s duty with honesty and integrity.

YINGKIONG, April 3: The final phase of training of Sector Officers for ensuing simultaneous election to the State Assembly and Lok Sabha was conducted in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Yingkiong on April 2. The Master Trainer Hengo Basar PD made elaborate briefing to the officers about their duties and responsibilities on the polling day and also before and after the polling is over. Basar advised them that everyone’s intention should of peaceful, free and fair election without any untoward incidence. Basar also cautioned the officers that anybody who is found guilty of neglecting duties assigned to him/her shall be prosecuted as per provisions under the election conduct rules.
Earlier, the last phase of training of presiding and 1st Polling Officers was conducted at Tourist Hall on the same day. Master Trainer Dr. Ahik Miyu and Dr. Karik Mize imparted the training to the officials.
Instruction to HoOs: After second level randomization of the polling personnel done by the District Informatics Officer, Yingkiong, Ranvir Singh and his subordinate EVMs and technical electronic expert staffs Polling Teams have been arranged by RO/DEO Dr. Tariq Thomas, and he has issued necessary appointment orders. Dr Thomas instructed all the HoOs to well inform the concerned staffs in time about their appointment as Presiding/Polling Officers and their movement to respective destinations/disposal and also collection centres which starts w.e.f 4/4/14. The RO further instructed the HoOs to inform their staffs engaged on polling at earliest possible means to ensure that they report at the respective offices in time. DIPRO

KHONSA, April 3: In the run up to the ensuing twin Parliamentary and Assembly elections in the state, various election related programmes are being carried out with great degree of seriousness both in Tirap and Longding districts by the Block Level Officers and the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation [SVEEP].

Seek vote on developmental agenda
High drama unfolded on the streets of Vadodara today as Congress candidate and Rahul Gandhi confidante Madhusudan Mistry, contesting against Narendra Modi, was arrested with his supporters for rioting after they tore down posters of the BJP's prime ministerial candidate. Mistry and his 33 supporters were later released by a magistrate on personal bonds of Rs 5000 each. Incident reflects lack of maturity on the part of Congress leader.
It is not clear whether he was really hurt by lack of advertisement space or trying to get few seconds of fame. Such provocative act in election time could have lead to violent clashes among BJP and Congress supporters. If any untoward incident happens, who will take responsibilities? The political parties seriously need to reign in their leaders and ensure that no one indulges in any kind of provocative activities which may turn situation worse. They should try to win people’s vote on the basis of developmental agenda and stop such silly activities.

Let’s vote for change
Dear Editor,
Other day I used to seek excuse from participating in election by abstaining from casting my valuable vote, because MLA's/Leaders had an impression in my eye that they are not for citizens welfare rather they (leaders) are for themselves to open gateway for themselves to pursue their selfish motive of becoming rich and powerful. Hence, unlimited flow of money during the time of election .I tends to feel that all leaders are same, but the reality is among bad leaders/candidates, there is good candidate/leader also. This time I have decided to go for casting my valuable vote but for right candidate.
I had this impression that when we know they (leaders) are not going to work for welfare once get elected, then why should we take pain of standing in queue for casting VOTE for them. By abstaining from voting we entertain bad leader/candidate to come in power again and again directly or indirectly by depriving genuine leader/candidate who has real vision & concern for society, but loose election because they (genuine leader's) can't find genuine supporter/voter in election.If you want to see & bring about change then yes you must exercise your voting right by casting vote for genuine candidate. I know my single vote won't make much difference but there must be many people around who think like me and our collective vote obviously can make big difference...Sigh!!!!
As of money involvement is concern, once I had strong feeling that, it's no wrong to take whatever money they (candidate) offer without you asking for it...In one sense it is only way to teach lesson to one who rely too much on money power by draining their resource .Taking money from someone else and casting your vote for right and deserving candidate is no wrong .As somewhere the money they
(Candidates) are distributing is meant for you, it was meant for school building, road, water, electricity etc.But in other way by taking money we are discouraging the genuine candidates with limited resource as we compel him/her to arrange money to distribute among voters to compete with his/her contestants & to secure his position as all voter's will not think alike. And above all human beings has greedy nature and are most likely to go for short cut & materialistic thing. In fact money has such magical power that for time being it stops our mind from thinking about future. This may be the reason why citizens tend to forget the real issue pertaining in our society be it basics such as sadak,paani aur bijli or perhaps ill system of back door entry in Govt. job where merit doesn't count.
Unless we discourage the money culture during election, more or less things will remain same only. After coming to power, leader has to recover whatever he/she had spent during the election & hence indulge in illegal activities of siphoning the fund meant for public. To bring system in right track, money culture has to stop and it has to start from you (VOTER) by making little sacrifices, by dubbing devil within us who tempted us to take money. So, for betterment of future generation to come let's say no to money rather let's insist for quality of policy & services. The money you receive during election will not last long, but infrastructure such as good road, hospital, and schools will surely lasts longer. Let's be the change by voting judiciously. If we act collectively, the things are not difficult as it seems. Remember "Drop's of water contribute a mighty ocean”. By the way where have the issues & chaos gone hiding, which we get to see earlier, I wonder? Why concern citizens are maintaining silence now? Ask yourself are you worth complaining? If complaining alone can yield any result? It's your time now to show the might of people power. Don't shy away from your responsibilities of choosing good & visionary leader, who can lead us towards right track.
Well many might feel that I can't find any good & clean leader. To those remember we all have a devil reside within us, but only difference is, its intensity varies. This is with reference to the news items published in yesterday’s edition with a headline 'many crorepatis in fray for assembly election.’ It seems that though our state is often termed as an income less state; but it has the potentiality of creating many crorepatis.
As said, not many are born rich but only few gets rich some through their hard works, others inherit, some through luck, some are destined but here in our state; it has become a common trend that to become rich one should either join student union or mainstream state politics. One will feel the power and money pouring in from all side.We have been hearing about many schemes being implemented and many packages being showered by centre for development of our state but did we ever try to calculate how this lakhs and crores of packages are being utilized in our state.
The work schemes are usually engulfed by politicians without letting the scheme go through proper channel line. The so called influential office bearer (Govt. officers) plays major role in making those rich to richer by manipulating the schemes/packages meant for the common people by diluting the process. And the most annoying part is when this manipulated money stocks are used in buying votes during election time. We just can't blame voters for taking money during election. The blame should be purely showered on those political pioneers who started this bargaining trend to lure common people for their victory.
There are many lucky ones who are becoming rich because of the election money. In

NOTA be allowed to fight election
Dear Editor,
Let me share this with the readers in lighter vain (if not seriously) that after the inclusion of NOTA (none of the above) feature in the ballot paper for the 2014 election, the declaration of candidates elected as unopposed intrigues me to no end. It is understood that in such case(s) there was either no opponent or the nomination of the opponent was rejected! But the new feature called ‘NOTA’ should be allowed to fight the election! Who knows “NOTA’ may get more votes! In my opinion, not for nothing, Supreme Court of India has directed for inclusion of NOTA in the ballot paper!

Verify facts before writing
Dear Editor,
This is in response to the news item published on dated 27th March, 2014 regarding BSNL network in Koyu Area. I would like to inform everyone that though there is WLL service, it is not functional most of the time. I wonder whether the reporter actually reached Koyu and made any phone calls from there, if not I would like to advise him to do so before writing report which is not based on fact. Just erecting of WLL tower does not serve the purpose.
I would like to advise the reporter to please investigate and find out the detail for the benefit of the users as well as the readers.
There is no mobile connectivity in Koyu area even though BSNL has reached almost all the villages of Arunachal Pradesh.
